Man’s body found in Columbia River

KENNEWICK – The Benton County Sheriff’s Office and Kennewick Police Department were dispatched at 11:42 a.m. Saturday to a deceased male located floating in the Columbia River near the east boat launch in Columbia Park, 1515 Paul Parish Drive.
KPD detectives responded to scene and said the preliminary investigation into the death does not appear to be suspicious.
The adult male has been identified as Joaquin Gutierrez-Veleasquez, 46. His next of kin have been notified.
This is still an active investigation.
