JOHN DAY – Grant County Commissioner Jim Hamsher was on KJDY’s Coffee Time, and said that he’ll be answering Fair Manager Mindy Winegar’s call for volunteer help at the fair:

“…I’m going to go down there to help. You know, maybe mind the ticket booth.”

The Grant County Fair runs August 9th through the 12th. Anyone interested in volunteering can contact the Fair Office at (541) 575-1900.

The Commissioner also mentioned he was present for the signing of a new bill into law:

“Yeah, we had the Governor, Senator Hansel, Senator Findley, Representative Owens and Representative Levy.

With Senate Bill 955, it’s a AgriStress bill to help [bring to fruition] a suicide hotline for agricultural workers.”
