Alleged burglar nabbed with stolen goods

MILTON-FREEWATER – Umatilla County Emergency Dispatch received a report Tuesday afternoon that a resident in the 53000 block of Walla Walla River Road in the Milton-Freewater area had been burglarized. Deputy Cody Gray responded to the call.
The owner told Gray that while he was at the store someone entered his garage and took his tools. The owner had video footage of the theft, and after inquiring on social media, even had the identity of a potential suspect. The deputy checked the area and located a man who seemed to match the description of the burglar near Marie Dorian Park on Couse Creek Road.
“The deputy made contact and was able to recover the stolen property,” Capt. Sterrin Ward reported. “Alberto Guadalupe Serrano (37), was arrested.”
In addition to first-degree burglary, the suspect is also charged with second-degree theft and second-degree criminal trespass.
