JOHN DAY – Heart of Grant County Director Beth Simonsen and Advocate Rayme Lacey were on KJDY’s Coffee Time, speaking to resources they have to help survivors of domestic violence.

Lacey said that Heart of Grant County is also open to community volunteers:

“If there’s somebody in the community that has a special skill set that they could help clients—you know, doing some peer mentoring kind of stuff. That would be great. A lot of our clients, especially people that are in the shelter…they’re kind of separated from the community a bit and they get lonely.”

Lacey said perhaps someone would enjoy giving cooking lessons, or financial advice. Contact Heart of Grant County for further details at (541) 575-4335.
