UPDATE 10:55 a.m. July 26: WSDOT reports the highway has reopened

OLYMPIA – The Washington State Department of Transportation reports that due to the Newell Road Fire near Roosevelt in Klickitat County, State Route 14 is completely closed in both directions between US 97 (milepost 100) near Biggs Junction and Interstate 82 (milepost 180), south of Tri-Cities, except for local residents.

This closure is in place for the safety of local residents and to allow emergency responders access within the fire area. It will remain in effect until further notice.
