Mann Lake Wildfire in Harney County

Harney County-The Mann Lake fire is currently estimated over 300 acres, burning in rough, steep terrain on the east side of Steens Mountain.
The incident received significant air and ground support this evening from Fields-Andrews RFPA with 2 trucks, 2 dozers and a water tender; and, agency resources including 5 engines, 1 dozer, C-201A, 6 SEAT’s, 2 Type 2 helicopters, Air Attack, 2 Large Air Tankers and a lead plane. These resources plus a Type 1 helicopter, 3 Type 2 Initial Attack crews, the Eastern Oregon Engine Task Force and High Desert Type 3 Incident Management Team are expected on site tomorrow.
The Mann Lake Recreation Site will be closed to the public until further notice to allow for an incident base camp, and please avoid the East Steens Road and Mann Lake area if at all possible.
