HERMISTON – Modular buildings at Hermiston High School have been removed and parking lot work has begun.
“Accessibility is definitely increasing at the high school for parking,” Assistant Superintendent Jake Bacon said.
The change will mean more than 200 additional parking spots. Bacon said anyone in the Hermiston area is probably already aware of the shortage of parking at the high school. There are no immediate plans to assign parking spaces.
“Right now, it’s first-come, first-served,” he said. “I encourage kids to get up early or at least get to class on time, find that parking spot, roll into it, and go.”
Other construction projects over the summer include fencing at Highland Hills Elementary and replacing and extending the covered walkway on the east side of Desert View Elementary.
