Tree hauling begins on Murderer’s Creek Restoration Project

DAYVILLE – The South Fork John Day Watershed Council posted to social media Monday that tree hauling has begun for the Murderer’s Creek Restoration Project. The council put up a video showing several downed juniper trees. They wrote, “We’re so excited to finally begin work on this long-awaited project. These trees will be placed along 2.5 miles of Murderers Creek, a major tributary to the South Fork John Day River, to provide important habitat for ESA listed Steelhead.”
The Watershed Council cautions anyone who plans on driving the South Fork Road in the next few weeks, as there will be large equipment on the roadways. See the video on the South Fork John Day Watershed Council’s Facebook page. Stay posted for updates.
