The Oregon State Sheriff’s Association awards college scholarships

Harney County- The Oregon State Sheriff’s Association Scholarship Committee has awarded a college scholarship to eight Oregon Students who aspire to a future in law enforcement.
One of the scholarship recipients is Harney Counties Merissa Maree Medley. Merissa will be attending Tresure Valley College, playing softball and studying criminal justice for two years. After that, Merissa plans to transer to Western Oregon University and finish her criminal justice studies.
Merissa would like to pursue a career in detective and investigation work.during the weekdays, Merissa spends two hours at the Harney County Sheriff’s Office where she is learning about jobs in the office and the courthouse.
