Cook Memorial Library Receives $3,000 Grant for Literacy Kits and Library of Things

LA GRANDE – (Release from the Cook Memorial Library) Cook Memorial Library has received a generous grant from the Libraries of Union County Foundation in the amount of $3,000. These grant funds will be used in the fall of 2023 to expand the library’s Early Literacy Kits and the Library of Things collections.
Early Literacy Kits are themed totes of books, puzzles, toys, DVDs, and music CDs. These kits are geared towards families with children. Grant funds will also be used to expand the Library of Things collection with items for all ages. Library of Things is a relatively new addition to the library and includes a wide variety of items including games, equipment, museum passes, and STEM kits. Both of these collections are very popular, and their expansion will benefit library patrons of all ages.
