Two dead after crash on U.S. 395 north of Pasco

PASCO – Two people died Tuesday afternoon in a traffic collision at the intersection of U.S. 395 and Crestloch Road, north of the Pasco city limits, near Country Mercantile. The accident happened at 2:57 p.m.

The Washington State Patrol reports Jeffry L. Bowes, 71 and Debora L. Bowes, 66, both of Cheney, died in the crash.

Troopers said Jeffry Bowes, the driver, was traveling southbound on U.S. 395 pulling a trailer with his pickup when he failed to yield to oncoming traffic traveling northbound on U.S. 395 while turning left onto Crestlock Road. The Bowes were struck by another pickup pulling a trailer.

Authorities said Jeffry Bowes died at Kadlec Regional Medical Center. His passenger, Debora L. Bowes, died at the scene.

The driver of the other vehicle, Daniel M. Gomez, 20, of Sunnyside, was not injured.
