Fairgrounds vandalized, shower money stolen

JOHN DAY – Grant County Fairgrounds Manager Mindy Winegar this morning reported recent theft and vandalism at the fairgrounds.
Winegar posted a photo to social media showing the metal money box for the showers had been broken into with the money stolen from inside. She said the subject or subjects also turned on all of the showers, leaving the water running.
Because of the incident, the Grant County Fairgrounds have since closed the gates to the fairgrounds. The shower facilities will only be offered to guests during their stay, and all others only during business hours. Stay posted updates.
