Fatal vehicle versus pedestrian crash in Pasco

PASCO – The Washington State Patrol is investigating a fatal traffic collision that happened at 3:43 a.m. Saturday in Pasco.
Troopers said Evelio Cruz, 41, of Pasco was in the lane of travel on the ramp from north U.S. 395 to west Interstate 182 when he was struck by a Honda SUV driven by Brian J. Luft, 51, of Kennewick.
Cruz died at the scene. Next of kin has been notified.
Luft’s vehicle was totaled, however, he was not injured.
According to WSP, no charges will be filed.
