GRANT & MORROW COUNTIES – Umatilla National Forest Public Information Officer Darcy Weseman was recently on KJDY’s Coffee Time. During the visit she explained the Parker Mills Project in the northwestern corner of Grant County:
“It’s about 32,000 acres in size. We are currently planning that project…30 miles southeast of Heppner, kind of near the Tupper Guard Station. It’s in both Morrow and Grant Counties.
That area has had some beetle infestation. It’s resulted in some fuel loading in the area—some unhealthy forest conditions.”
Stay posted for more regarding the Parker Mills Fuels Reduction Project.
