PENDLETON – The Wild West Beerfest has raised thousands of dollars to help young people in need with scholarships for the Pendleton Parks and Recreation Department’s after school program as well as other activities. Director Liam Hughes said the event will be Saturday from noon-7 p.m. at Roy Raley Park.
“It’s actually a fun day out even if you don’t care about helping kids, which I hope you do,” Hughes said with a laugh. “We have live music. We’re going to have a wide variety of different beers.”
He said that in addition to microbrews, there will be domestic beer options at the event.
“We’ve been able to raise tens of thousands of dollars to go towards this low-income scholarship program,” he said.
Hughes credit the sponsors for playing a key role in that success. The presenting sponsor is Hill Meat Company. Others include Starvation Farms, Elkhorn Media Group, Travel Pendleton, and Wildhorse Resort & Casino.
