NORTHEAST OREGON – Several colleges and athletes from across eastern Oregon will showcase their rodeo skills and pursue their passions this week to try and bring home national titles.
The 2023 College National Finals Rodeo (CNFR) is underway now through Saturday, June 17 at the Ford Wyoming Center in Casper. The best of the best college rodeo riders from around the nation includes several top-ranked schools and athletes from right here in eastern Oregon.
Heading into this week’s finals, both the Treasure Valley Community College (Ontario) Men’s and Women’s team are ranked number one in the national standings, while Blue Mountain Community College (Pendleton) Women’s team is ranked number two. BMCC’s men’s team is ranked 13th.
Numerous local athletes are competing as well, they include:
Logan Atkinson (La Grande) – Walla Walla Community College.
Hunter Greenup (Heppner) – Blue Mountain Community College
Cody King (Burns) – Treasure Valley Community College.
Peter McBride (Vale) – Treasure Valley Community College.
Ty Taylor (Burns) – Treasure Valley Community College.
Zane Taylor (Burns) – Treasure Valley Community College.
Kimberly Williams (Haines) – Walla Walla Community College.
