JOHN DAY/PRAIRIE CITY – (Press Release from the Malheur National Forest)
The Blue Mountain Ranger District plans to burn hand piles at Parish Cabin Campground following recent efforts to remove hazard trees for public safety.
Ignitions are planned for Tuesday, June 13th, 2023, if weather and fuel conditions align to lessen the impact to campers and recreationalist over the weekend. Firefighters will remain on scene and monitor the burn piles throughout the day.
Visitors may see and smell smoke throughout the operations and are encouraged to use caution around the area.
