EOU Honors Its Top Athletes at the 2023 Mountie Awards

LA GRANDE – (Release from Eastern Oregon University) The 2023 Mountie Awards are part of the history books now, and the athletes of the year have been chosen. The Mountie Awards, which honor EOU’s top athletes, was held June 6 in Mckenzie Auditorium.

  • Justin Ash, Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Year
  • Solo Taylor, Football Player of the Year
  • Erika Skindlov, Women’s Soccer Player of the Year
  • Max Rose, Men’s Soccer Player of the Year
  • Cambree Scott, Volleyball Player of the Year
  • Sailor Liefke, Women’s Basketball Player of the Year
  • Phillip Malatare, Men’s Basketball Player of the Year
  • Erin Redford, Women’s Wrestler of the Year
  • Hunter Sparks, Men’s Wrestler of the Year
  • Mario Landeros, Baseball Player of the Year
  • Kaylie Hoskins, Softball Player of the Year
  • Maya Smith, Women’s Lacrosse Player of the Year
  • Maggie Ledbetter, Women’s Track & Field Athlete of the Year
  • Tanner Nett, Men’s Track & Field Athlete of the Year
  • Alaina Watson, Cheer & Dance Performer of the Year
  • Tanner Nett & Preslee Jensen, Breakout Athlete of the Year
  • Kaylie Hoskins, Women’s Newcomer of the Year
  • Hunter Sparks, Men’s Newcomer of the Year
  • Phillip Malatare, Men’s Athlete of the Year
  • Maggie Ledbetter, Women’s Athlete of the Year
  • Volleyball, Game of the Year, EOU’s win over Corban in five sets during the CCC Championship
  • Tanner Net, Maggie Ledbetter, Moment of the Year, Nett broke the oldest EOU T&F record to win the CCC Championship, and Ledbetter won the National Championship in the shot put
