Man gives false information to try and avoid arrest

Harney County-On Friday, June 2, 2023, Oregon State Police stopped a vehicle on Highway 20 near mile post 145 for a speed violation.

The passenger was found in possession of an open container of alcohol. He the gave a false name to both a Trooper and Burns Police Office who has responded as cover. After some time, he admitted he had given a false name and stated he had a warrant for his arrest. His true identity was discovered to be Peter Renne.

Renne was arrested on an active warrant out of Douglas County and for Giving False Info to Police in Connections With a Warrant. He was also cited for Violation of Open Container Law
