Multiple Livestock Killed During CMV Crash Near Huntington

HUNTINGTON – (Information from the Oregon State Police) Multiple livestock were killed in commercial motor vehicle (CMV) crash near Huntington, baker county, on Friday, May 19. The Incident occurred on I-84 at milepost 332 at approximately 12:45 in the afternoon. The Oregon State Police provided the following description of the incident:“The Oregon State Police, Baker County Sheriff’s Office, Baker Rural Fire Department & Metro West Ambulance responded to a commercial motor vehicle crash.

The CMV was a blue tractor pulling cattle trailer full of cattle. The CMV and trailer overturned onto its driver’s side while negotiating a curve. The combination then came to an uncontrolled rest on top of the concrete median divider which was affecting both westbound and eastbound traffic. During the crash event multiple cows were killed. Numerous cows were transported from the scene to a local ranch, and some were dispatched on scene.

The interstate was closed for a period of time, but mostly remained open via one lane in both directions. The driver” (Jeremiah Albert Boone. Middleton, ID) “was issued a citation for failing to maintain his lane of travel. The driver was also transported from the scene by ambulance for further evaluation at a hospital. Roadrunner responded to the scene and removed the vehicle combination and the dead cattle.”
