Boy arrested for allegedly making online threat

EPHRATA – The Grant County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 12-year-old male student Monday after he allegedly made an online threat against a teacher in the Wahluke School District in Mattawa.

Authorities said the online threat included a photo created by the student showing him holding what appeared to be a handgun and a piece of paper with a caption that included expletives and the teacher’s name.

The threatening message was immediately reported to school administrators and to law enforcement.

The boy was arrested and booked for investigation of felony harassment and lodged into the Chelan County Juvenile Detention Center.
