GCSO communications infrastructure undergoing improvements

JOHN DAY – Grant County Sheriff Todd McKinley said the agency’s big communications infrastructure update is still underway. He told listeners that snow has limited access to many of the sites this year:

“That is still an ongoing project, and we are seeing some headway. Radios [have been] replaced up in the Monument area—the repeater systems up there. Our new Long Creek system is up and running, and I know we’ve got new equipment up at Eagle Peak, it’s just not online yet. We’re kind of getting excited about the ability to communicate a lot better on our side.”
