HEPPNER – A suspect is in jail and the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office reports that an investigation into sex crimes is ongoing. MCSO first received notice of a possible crime involving “multiple” juvenile victims on April 13.
“During the investigation, evidence was obtained that led to the arrest of Saul Nathan Lopez, 18, of Heppner,” MCSO Lt. Melissa Camarillo wrote in a news release.
Lopez was arrested on four counts of third-degree sex abuse, one count of third-degree rape, and 13 counts of online sexual corruption of a minor in the first degree. He was arrested on April 24 and was initially held without bail.
MCSO states that Lopez was arraigned, and his bail was set at $500,000 on April 25. He was then arraigned on Monday for an indictment issued by a Morrow County grand jury and his bail remained the same.
