CANYON CITY – Grant County Emergency Management reported that the Grant County Road Department supported the City of Canyon City yesterday, making emergency repairs to an area of Canyon Creek that had a retaining wall collapse due to high water, threatening a structure. Emergency Management Coordinator Eric Bush said if there is potential flooding at your place, go your local city hall first:
“I really would recommend, rather than calling dispatch, is reach out to your municipality. We have different capacities in our different towns. The cities are really your first stop if you’re in the city. If you’re in the county, reach out to the County Road Department, [they are] handling a lot of this.”
Stay tuned and stay posted for high water updates.
