EASTERN OREGON – (Release from Oregon Trail Electric Co-op) May is National Wildfire Preparedness Month and with summer weather on the horizon, Oregon Trail Electric Cooperative (OTEC) remains proactive in our efforts to mitigate the ever-changing risk associated with wildfires to meet regulatory requirements and keep the communities we serve, our members, and our employees safe.
Guided by the Cooperative Principal of Concern for Community, OTEC will be holding five public town halls in the four counties the co-op serves to share information to our member-owners on our wildfire mitigation plans and Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS). The one-hour meetings will be held in these local communities:
Harney County Town Hall: Tuesday, May 9 at 5:30pm. Located at the Burns Fire Department, 242 S. Broadway Avenue, Burns, OR 97720
Grant County Town Hall No. 1: Thursday, May 11 at 2:00pm. Located at Long Creek City Hall, 250 Hardisty, Long Creek, OR 97856
Union County Town Hall: Monday May 15 at 5:30pm. Located at the La Grande Fire Department, 1806 Cove Ave., La Grande OR 97850
Baker County Town Hall: Tuesday, May 16 at 5:30pm. Located at the Baker Rural Fire Protection District Station, 3855 23rd St. Baker City, OR 97814
Grant County Town Hall No. 2: Thursday, May 18 at 5:30pm. Located at the John Day Fire Department, 316 S. Canyon Blvd., John Day, OR 97845
