GRANT COUNTY – Make-A-Wish Oregon grants life-changing local wishes to children battling critical illnesses. Jaime Mathis, a former “Wish Kid” was on KJDY’s Coffee Time explaining the impact a wish can have on several different lives. She said volunteers are busy granting wishes in Oregon:

“Right now, we have about 350 local kids that are waiting for their wishes to come true. That’s a pretty big number, but it’s also a doable number, because we’ve been doing this work since 1983 and have granted over 4,800 wishes for Oregon kids.”

Mathis shared her story of battling a rare cancer as a child, and how her wish of a Morgan horse helped in her full recovery and inspired her to “pay the magic forward.”
