Three EOU Women’s Grapplers Named NAIA Scholar All-Americans

LA GRANDE – (Release from Eastern Oregon University) The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) announced the recipients of the 2022-23 Scholar All-America Team and Individual awards for the NAIA Women’s Division. Eastern Oregon University made their mark with three selections as NAIA Scholar All-Americans and the eighth highest team GPA in the nation.
“I am proud of the work this group is putting in,” Head Coach Mhar Caballa said. “It’s not easy to balance academics and athletics, but they are showing that it is possible to hold yourself to a high standard if you commit yourself to everything and anything.”
The Mounties finished the season with a 3.218 GPA which is good for No. 8 in the nation. The only CCC school ahead of Eastern as a team was Southern Oregon University who came in at No. 3.
Eastern’s three award winners were all freshman. The trio is listed below.
