Multiple scholarship opportunities still available for Grant County students

GRANT COUNTY – The school year is winding down and students are still busy getting their scholarship applications in. Bob VanVoorhis with the John Day Elks, the American Legion and other organizations reminds students of some opportunities available:
“There are programs for the [American] Legion, the VFW, the military or the Purple Heart—another organization I belong to; the Disabled American Veterans and the Elks Lodge all have programs and scholarships for our high school kids. This is county-wide.”
VanVoorhis said last year the Elks had only one scholarship applicant. Students can talk to their school advisors for more information.
