Coffee group provides fellowship and more for veterans

JOHN DAY – Bob VanVoorhis with the American Legion, John Day Elks and other organizations was on KJDY’s Coffee Time talking about our Grant County military veteran population. He said every Wednesday morning veterans gather for free coffee, pastries and conversation at the John Day Elks:
“I’m a combat veteran of Vietnam, obviously, and I’ve been through a lot of PTSD training and sessions and therapies and everything else. I can tell you that this coffee group has probably done as much, if not more for these veterans of all eras; of all experiences and everything else than anything I’ve seen. Very inclusive.”
The group meets every Wednesday morning at 0900 at the John Day Elks Lodge. Listen to the full podcast below:
