YAKIMA – A Yakima man has been sentenced to seven years in federal prison for being a felon in possession of firearms that were stolen last year from a Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife building.
In addition to his prison sentence, Alexander Scott Stevens, 31, will serve a three-year term of court supervision after his release from custody.
On January 2, 2022, Yakima Police Department officers responded to an activated alarm and discovered someone had cut a hole into a chain link fence, then cut another hole into the building’s exterior wall.
Eighteen firearms and a suppressor were stolen from the WDFW building. Detectives confirmed Steven’s palm print was left on the wall. A criminal complaint was filed in federal court and Stevens was taken into custody.
