Wallowa Students Show off their Ag Mechanics Skills at TVCC Event

WALLOWA – (Information from Wallowa School District) TVCC (Treasure Valley Community College) hosted an ag mechanics event last week, and students from Wallowa, in the district’s own words, rocked it! Below are the final placements of Wallowa’s students shared by the district:

  • Advanced Team (Gage Goebel, Weston Wolfe, Lucas Hulse, Ty Prince, Jose Mendez)- 1st Place
  • Adv. Individual Overall- Gage 2nd, Weston 3rd, Ty 6th, Jose 10th
  • Beginning Team (Jonathan Brainard, GW Sweeney, Shane Wenke, Cash Tanzey, Kaed Thorne, Sawyer Wentz)- 3rd Place 
  • Beginning Individual Overall- GW 1st, Cash 10th 
  • Gage Goebel was 1st in tractor identification, 1st in Baler identification, 2nd in plasma cutting, 3rd in MIG welding, & 5th in electrical wiring
  • Weston Wolfe was 3rd in tractor identification, 2nd in Baler identification, 2nd in plasma cutting, 3rd in MIG welding, & 5th in electrical wiring
  • Ty Prince was 3rd in tractor identification, 2nd in Baler identification, 2nd in MIG welding, & 3rd in electrical wiring
  • Jose Mendez was 2nd in plasma cutting & 2nd in electrical wiring 
  • Lucas Hulse was Baler identification, 6th in plasma cutting & 8th in MIG welding
  • GW Sweeney was 1st in arc welding, 4th in tool identification, 2nd in small engine, & 4th in precision measuring
  • Cash Tanzey was 3rd in arc welding, 6th in tool identification & 2nd in small engine 
  • Jonathan Brainard was 3rd in arc welding, 9th in tool identification, 8th in small engine & 6th in precision measuring
  • Kaed Thorne was 5th in arc welding 
  • Shane Wenke was 8th in arc welding & 5th in precision measuring 
  • Sawyer Wentz was 9th in arc welding, 6th in tool identification & 5th in small engine
