Public hearing Wednesday on Grant County Road District formation

CANYON CITY – The Grant County Court is looking to form the Grant County Road Service District. The district would construct, operate and maintain all unincorporated county roads. A public hearing on the proposal is slated for tomorrow morning at 9:05 a.m., during the Grant County Court meeting.  

Any and all interested persons may appear and present written statements in favor of or against formation of the proposed Road District. A copy of the written statement must be submitted to the County Court on or before the date of the hearing in order for the statement to be considered. Find the full notice from the county below:

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

“Notice is hereby given that the County Court for Grant County has entered an order declaring its intention to form a service district under Oregon Revised Statutes chapter 451, for the purpose of constructing, operating and maintaining all County roads. The service territory of the proposed service district includes all of the unincorporated lands within Grant County, Oregon. A hearing on the County Court’s district formation proposal shall be held at 9:05 a.m. on the 5th of April 2023, at the courtroom of the Grant County Courthouse, 201 South Humbolt, Canyon City. Any and all interested persons may appear and present written statements in favor of or against formation of the proposed Road District. A copy of the written statement must be submitted to the County Court on or before the date of the hearing in order for the statement to be considered. Any statement not made and filed as required under ORS 198.735 shall be considered voluntarily waived.”
