ELGIN – From Orange County to Union County, one Oregonian is in the contest of a lifetime and the community is being asked to help make it happen. Elgin Resident Anthony Simmons is, at the time of writing, in first place for the 2023 Dream Chopper. Helmed by Paul Teutul Sr. of Orange County Choppers and American Chopper fame, the winner of the giveaway will get to design and build the custom bike of their dreams with the help of this motor legend. Part of the contest’s proceeds also go toward assisting service members and their families via Hope for The Warriors.

According to his wife, Christina Simmons, Anthony is a hard-working family man and avid motorcycle enthusiast though struggles with mental health. As stated by Christina:

“He goes above and beyond for his family. If this is one small thing I can do to show my love and appreciation for him, along with making a dream come true, then I’ll not stop until I cannot take this any further. Riding motorcycles is his therapy. To win a competition like this would not only boost his spirits but would prove to him that he’s worth it and means so much to us all!”

Dream Chopper consists of several rounds of voting, with lower ranked participants eliminated each time. The top 15 participants will be locked in at 9 p.m., March 30, with the final winner chosen on May 17. Those interested can vote at Anthony simmons | Dream Chopper. A valid Facebook account is required to vote.
