JOHN DAY – John Day Mayor Heather Rookstool recently informed listeners that they have two vacancies on their Planning Commission, and they’ll likely be filling them at tomorrow’s meeting:

“Planning has two openings. One has to an in-city resident for at least twelve months. The other one—that person has to be out of city limits, but in the urban growth boundaries. That one is a harder one to fill, actually. We have that one at-large, so, if we don’t get an application, we’ll just have to keep it open.”

The John Day City Council meets tomorrow evening at the John Day Fire Hall beginning at 7 p.m. Additional items on the regular agenda include credit cards, bank accounts and City Manager recruitment; as well as an intergovernmental agreement to establish a rural regional revitalization strategies consortium.
