GRANT COUNTY – Here’s one from the Grant County High School Rodeo Team.

Oregon High School Rodeo Association team members Bailey McCracken and Jack Strong, and Oregon Jr. High Division member Tatyn Harper spent last week in Ogden, Utah at the Intermountain Icebreaker for a pre-season rodeo competition. According to a release from the team, Bailey secured 6th in the Championship short-go in the barrel racing, and Jack scored a 76.5 to earn himself the reserve buckle at 2nd place in the Championship short-go in bull riding.  Tatyn competed in bull riding and bareback riding.

The release states, “Junior High Division member, Tatyn Harper, an 8th Grader at Prairie City School, had some tough luck. Getting hung up on his first bareback ride and under the bull on his bull ride, he had to push through the other two rides with a handful of injuries and one sore, stiff body. While he was not able to make the 8 second rides, he left the arena after his last ride for the week with a smile and valuable experience and connections to fuel his drive to start the official season out strong!”

Both Bailey McCracken and Jack Strong are students at Grant Union High School. Stay posted for Rodeo Team updates.
