HALFWAY – (Release from the Baker County Sheriff’s Office) On March 1, 2023, at approximately 3:53 p.m., Baker County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch received a report of an assault that occurred in Halfway, Oregon. It was reported that the suspect was no longer on scene and may have left the area.
Deputies responded to the scene and contacted the victim. During the investigation, deputies determined an altercation occurred, and the victim sustained injuries. The suspect was identified as Stephen Aleck Brisk (33 yoa) of Halfway. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate Brisk.
On March 2, 2023, Brisk turned himself in at the Baker County Sheriff’s Office. He was arrested and charged with Assault IV (domestic violence), Strangulation, Menacing, and Interference with Making a Report. Brisk was lodged in the Baker County Jail.
