BAKER CITY – (Information from the Oregon State Police). At approximately 1:20 P.M., February 23, the Oregon State Police recovered a stolen vehicle during a traffic stop and arrested its driver, Paul M. Blake (address unknown/unlisted). The incident occurred at Milepost 308 Westbound near Baker City. The OSP released the following description of the incident:
“The Oregon State Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle (tan Toyota Camry) for a registration display violation. During the contact, the Trooper discovered the vehicle was displaying a switched plate and the driver did not have a valid operator’s license. The Trooper obtained the VIN for the vehicle and conducted a records check. The vehicle returned stolen out of Washington. The Trooper had the stolen status confirmed and the driver was later arrested without incident. The driver was transported to the Baker County Jail where he was lodged. The vehicle was towed from the scene by Five Star Towing.”
Blake has been charged with Unauthorized Use of Vehicle, Unauthorized Entry into Motor Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Vehicle, Switched License Plates and No Operator’s License.
