RICHLAND, Washington – The Washington State Patrol is seeking the public’s help in locating a driver who fled after a pedestrian was struck and killed early Sunday morning near Richland. The collision occurred at approximately 2:30 a.m. A pedestrian was walking eastbound in the lane of travel on SR-240 near milepost 37, approximately one mile east of George Washington Way.
An unknown vehicle traveling eastbound struck the pedestrian and failed to stop at the scene. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased. The involved vehicle is believed to have damaged the front bumper assembly, hood, and possibly the windshield.
WSP is looking for witnesses to the collision or anyone who may have information regarding the involved vehicle or driver who fled the scene.
