DAYVILLE – According to a press release from Grant County Sheriff Todd McKinley, on the evening of February 2nd, an ambulance was requested for a 66-year-old male of Dayville.
The Sheriff noted that the subject, a veteran, was highly intoxicated and attempting to get law enforcement to end his life for him.
It was reported that the man had made repeated calls to 911 and fired shots in his residence at 205 East Franklin.
Near 12:15pm on the 3rd, the subject departed his residence in a pickup, and was then taken into custody without incident at the Dayville Mercantile.
Sheriff McKinley wrote, “State and County Law Enforcement along with Dispatch personnel worked diligently to bring this situation to a resolution without loss of life.
