The Harney County Cattlewomen announce their 2022 scholarship winners

Harney County-The Harney County Cattlewomen are pleased to announce that six Harney County students were awarded our 2022 scholarships. These students have many scholastic and extracurricular achievements and we are honored to share about them. We also provide scholarship opportunities to teachers wanting to attend the Summer Ag Institute in either La Grande or Corvallis. Proceeds from our 2021 & 2022 breakfasts and silent auction as well as generous donations from community members, Malheur Machinery & NewSun Energy have helped us give back over to the community.

Ty Taylor is a Crane graduate from Burns Oregon. His parents are Dally & Danielle Taylor and he is a current freshman at Treasure Valley Community College where he is studying Rangeland.

Casey Otley is a Crane graduate from Princeton Oregon. His parents are Dan & Katie Otley. Casey is a current senior at Eastern Oregon University where he is studying economics.

Brady White is a Burns, Oregon graduate. His parents are Dean & Petrina White. He is a current junior at Eastern Oregon University where he is studying Health & Human Performance.

Adam White is also a Burns, Oregon graduate. His parents are Dean & Petrina White and he is a Freshman at Central Arizona College studying radiology.

Ana Idoeta is a Crane graduate from Burns, Oregon.. Her parents are Castor & Lisa Idoeta. Ana is a sophomore at George Fox University where she is studying Psychology.

Tea Recanzone is a Burns, Oregon graduate. Her parents are Mario & Toni Recanzone. Tea is a Senior at Boise State where she is studying Spanish Secondary Education.

Our 2022 Summer Ag Institute (SAI) scholarship awardee was Julie Yakis, a teacher with the Silvies Charter School– she received funds to attend the conference this past year.

The Scholarship Committee was impressed with the quality of the applications this year. The Harney County Cattlewomen members want to extend our best wishes to all of the applicants.

Our club supports many activities in our community that promote and educate on beef & the ranching way of life.

We want to thank the community for their support in our fundraising events and hope that you can join us for our 2023 Cattlewomen’s Buckaroo Breakfast Saturday of Fair Week (September 9th) at the Harney County Chamber Community Room from 6-9am where we are pleased to be celebrating our 70th year as an organization. 2023 scholarship applications will be available starting April 1st.
