UMATILLA COUNTY – The Umatilla County Board of Commissioners wants to become more visible in the public eye. Chairman Dan Dorran said that part of that effort will be through social media.
“The commissioners will have a Facebook page and a Twitter account so that we will be able to try and get some of the information out to the public as quickly as possible,” he said.
The county is also working on launching a podcast. Dorran said during his campaign he learned that many people don’t know exactly what it is the county does.
“We’re going to start a podcast so that we can deal with conversations with department heads, different events, and different issues that are coming up,” he said.
Dorran says the board has begun its strategic planning for the future as well.
