WALLA WALLA – A man charged with one count of first-degree rape of a child is scheduled to be sentenced January 6, 2023 in Walla Walla County Superior Court. Dale Lewis Carlisle, 69, of Walla Walla is accused of engaging in sexual intercourse between March 5, 2013, and March 5, 2019, with a child under the age of 12.
Carlisle was originally scheduled to be sentenced earlier this month, but his sentencing was continued until next month due to his presentence report not being completed yet, according to Walla Walla County Prosecuting Attorney Jim Nagle.
Charges were filed following a forensic interview conducted in May by detectives from the Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office. According to court documents, the victim said the abuse always took place in Carlisle’s bedroom and that sometimes Carlisle would show pornography on his phone or take pictures on his phone. The victim admitted taking the phone and deleting the photos later.
Carlisle, who has no prior criminal history, pleaded guilty Nov. 21. The standard range for actual confinement when a person has no record of prior offenses, according to court documents, is 93 to 123 months. The maximum sentence is life in prison and a $50,000 fine.
