LA GRANDE – Early Wednesday morning, 11-16-22, Grande Ronde Hospital staff discovered an equipment malfunction in our surgical services department. The malfunction caused a water leak near one of the operating rooms. We are grateful the issue was caught before the damage became more extensive. The situation was quickly assessed, our teams worked through the night, and the process to repair the damage has already begun.
However, in an abundance of caution for our patients, the decision was made Wednesday to reschedule all non- emergent and elective surgeries for the remainder of that week. We anticipate our operating rooms will be fully functional by early this week.
We sincerely apologize to our patients for the inconvenience of having to reschedule these surgeries, but we hope our community understands. Rest assured, that we do have our third-floor operating suite reserved for emergent surgeries as needed.
