BENTON CITY – A 15-year-old boy was arrested Thursday night on suspicion of second-degree murder. The Benton County Sheriff’s Office said between the hours of 6 and 8:30 p.m. a disturbance between family members occurred at a residence on the 27000 block of Ambassador PR.
When deputies arrived on scene they contacted an adult female and a 15-year-old boy. Deputies also located an adult male who had sustained multiple life-threatening injuries. First aid was rendered, however the adult male succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.
The deceased male has been identified as Shane A. Taylor, 54. An autopsy will be conducted by the Benton County Coroner’s Office to confirm cause of death.
Detectives arrived on scene and began conducting a homicide investigation. Initial information suggests there was a physical disturbance between the adult female and adult male. The teenage boy became involved in the disturbance and is believed to have caused multiple injuries to Taylor. Based on the preliminary information known to the detectives at this time, the 15-year-old boy was arrested and booked into the Benton-Franklin Counties Juvenile Justice Center on suspicion of second-degree murder.
