UNION COUNTY – (Release from Union County) There are numerous branches, trees, and power lines that have fallen due to the recent snowstorm. Utility crews are currently working to restore power and services, and public works crews are opening roadways, removing downed trees and branches for safe travel as quickly as possible.
While Public Works crews are clearing roadways and right-of-ways, it is the landowner responsibility to remove downed trees and branches from personal property when it is safe to do so. This may be a good opportunity to assist your neighbors if you are able.
Citizens are urged to notify law enforcement at 541-963-1017 of any road hazards such as downed trees or utility lines in the roadway. Use caution when traveling and if possible avoid travel under low hanging branches.
