BAKER CITY – (Information from the SPC Mabry James Memorial Foundation) The Pumpkin Chunkin Bash will soon return to the Baker City Airport with a smash on October 29. Hosted by the SPC Mabry James Memorial Foundation, the Bash has participants taking to the skies in helicopters and tossing the biggest pumpkins they can bring at a bullseye. The event will feature live music by Frank Carlson, and drinks served by the Barley Brown’s Brew Pub. Foundation members will also be serving hot dogs, chili dogs, hamburgers and cheeseburgers.
Entry fee is $25 per person, per helicopter ride. Helicopter tickets are limited (Less than 100 still available) and must be purchased in advance. Tickets can be purchased at Baker Aircraft and Grumpy’s Repair. Participants will need to bring their own pumpkin. Tickets are only required for contest participants. The bash and all activities are open to the public and spectators. All proceeds from the event will go toward the SPC Mabry James Anders Memorial Foundation Scholarship Fund.
The Chunkin Bash will begin at noon following a safety briefing. Cash prizes are available for first, second and third place winners. For more information and questions about tickets call:
