WALLA WALLA – Washington State Superintendent of Public Instruction Chris Reykdal was in Walla Walla Friday to visit the Walla Walla Center for Children and Families to learn more about the district’s transitional kindergarten program. During his walking tour with Superintendent Wade Smith, Reykdal also visited Edison Elementary to see the dual language program in action.
“Walla Walla has a long history of quality education, so it’s been an outstanding visit,” Reykdal said. “Telling the story of our kids and educators matters to legislators and it’s my role to bring the needs of schools to our elected officials.”
Superintendent Reykdal finished his district visit with a trip to the Southeast Area Technical Skills Center, better known as SEATech to tour that facility and see students participating in hands-on programs. SEATech was established to provide advanced-level career and technical education programs to prepare students for post-secondary education and successful entry into high-skill, high-demand careers and employment.
