MILTON-FREEWATER – Chip seal street maintenance is scheduled to begin today (Monday) in Milton-Freewater. The work is being done by the Umatilla County Road Department.
Work will take place on Evans Street from Northwest Fourth Avenue to Northwest Eighth Avenue; Northwest Sixth Avenue from Lamb Street east to Evans Street; Southwest Seventh Avenue from Pierce Street east to South Columbia Street; Southeast Ninth Avenue from South Mill Street east to Walnut Street; Southeast 11th Avenue and Southeast 20th Place.
Work is weather dependent and is subject to change. The entire project is estimated to take approximately two days, but could extend into a third day. Funding is provided through Oregon House Bill 2017, Keep Oregon Moving.
Residents should plan to use alternate routes during this time. The city also asks residents to not blow any materials or lawn clippings into the street until after such cleaning preparations have taken place. Do not allow water to run into the street during this time as well. Contact Milton-Freewater Public Works for more information at 541-938-8270 or 8274.
