HERMISTON – Hermiston School Superintendent Tricia Mooney welcomed new teachers to the district Monday and is excited that the new school year is about to begin. HSD is offering support for families who need help with the school registration process. This week staff will be on hand from noon-8 p.m. today and Thursday.
“We’ll have staff available for families that need to come in and get help with registration,” she said. “We can help if they need a computer, need internet, or have any questions to be answered.”
The school district switched to a new online registration system. Mooney said all families that are currently registered were mailed details about the new system complete with their passwords.
“If families lost their letter and need their code, they can get that information from the district office and be able to go through the registration process at home,” she said.
Mooney said it’s vital that parents don’t wait until school is actually in session before registering. “That’s the way for us to finalize our classes and know how many students are coming,” she said. “It’s also the way students get assigned to classes and we send that information to Mid-Columbia Bus Company and that’s how they build their bus routes.”
