PENDLETON – The Pendleton Development Commission meets at 6 p.m. this evening (Tuesday) and the Pendleton City Council follows immediately after at around 7 p.m. The meetings are in council chambers of Pendleton City Hall.
At the PDC meeting, the commissioners will hear several reports and consider priorities for urban renewal funding. The commissioners will also discuss recommendations from the PDC Advisory Committee for changes in the urban renewal funding programs.
At the council meeting, the consent agenda includes a request from Greater Eastern Oregon Development Commission that the city help administer grants to small businesses to help them recover from COVID-19. The city would help distribute the money to businesses in Pendleton, Hermiston, and elsewhere in Umatilla County. GEODC lost the employee managing the project and is hoping Pendleton staff can fill that vacancy since there are no prospects for finding a replacement for that worker.
Also on the agenda, the council will consider awarding bids in both the Runway 29 project at the airport and membrane replacements at the water filtration plant. The PDC meeting is available via Zoom at Meeting ID 848 8298 2122, pass code 248854. The PCC meeting is Meeting ID 892 7583 5491, pass code 308709.
